Determined to do whatever it takes to meet his operational goals, Anthony Glueckler, President of GMI, searched for a way to evacuate the chips from his screw machines. The Model 400 Chip Evacuation & Recovery System solved not only his evacuation problem, but also provided a clever solution to managing the cutting oil.
Working Out 24 Hours Per Day
5,443,200 kg (12,000,000 lb.) of scrap steel chips per year meet the brute force of the Model 400 Chip Evacuation System from Patz. Patz wins - hands down. 1,360 kg (3,000 lb.) of scrap are generated every hour and the Patz system, running 3.35 m/minute (11 ft/minute) in the below floor trench, hauls it away without any problems.
90,000 liters (19,797 gal.) of oil run in the trench submerging the Patz Model 400 Chip Evacuation System in 46 cm (18") of lubricant. The oil is there to feed the 50 machines and the below-floor trench acts as a reservoir. Reclaimed oil from the chip wringer is pumped back into the trench.
